The mesh is 10 gauge wire in a 2" x 1" woven pattern that interlocks at every crossing, set in a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" x 1/8" angle frame. The 1" dimension blocks a hand and forearm, which keeps reach-through access to a latch, a lock or stock near the fence line to a minimum. Posts are 2" x 2" square tube in 14 gauge, and the system is bolted together with 3/8" grade two plated bolts placed so they cannot be reached from outside. It ships with concrete floor anchors and the erection hardware, and the standard finish is gray enamel for interior use.

A 2-wall system works best where two solid, full-height walls meet at a corner. The same system can also form an L or a free-standing layout, and the guide covers 1-wall, 3-wall and 4-wall styles for other floor plans. The mesh itself is not a machine guard, so use a dedicated guarding system where a risk assessment calls for one.

Selecting the Right Model
◆ Wall count, a 2-wall system fits a corner formed by two solid, full-height walls, so choose a 1-wall, 3-wall or 4-wall style when the layout is different
◆ Size, the table lists width by depth from 6'-6" x 6'-4" to 30'-8" x 30'-8", so measure both walls of the corner and pick the closest model
◆ Height, stock heights are 8'-5-1/4", 10'-5-1/4" and 12'-5-1/4", and a full-height or ceiling-capped cage prevents climbing over
◆ Door, hinged doors are 3' or 4' wide with a 7'-3-1/4" opening, while sliding doors run 3' to 10' wide and need a clear wall run beside the opening equal to the door width
◆ Mesh, choose 2" x 1" woven wire for tools, electronics and controlled stock, or 2" x 2" welded wire for boundaries and traffic control, since welded is about 25 to 33% lighter at the same panel size
◆ Lock, price the lock and exit hardware early, since options range from key locks to card readers and cost varies by more than ten to one
◆ Machine guarding, Style 840 is not a machine guard, so use a dedicated guarding system where a risk assessment calls for one

Where Commonly Used
The 2-Wall Style 840 is commonly used in warehouses, distribution centers and manufacturing plants for corner tool cribs, maintenance cages and secure inventory storage, and its woven mesh is the one the guide recommends for controlled substance storage.

CustomMHS carries WireCrafters wire partitions. All purchases include the manufacturer’s factory warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Should I use 2" x 1" woven wire or 2" x 2" welded wire?

Use 2" x 1" woven wire when the enclosure protects high-value, portable, or controlled inventory. Woven mesh is interlocked rather than fused, so cutting a single strand does not open a hole, and the 1-inch opening blocks a hand from reaching through to a lock or to stock stored near the fence line. Use 2" x 2" welded wire when the barrier is separating space rather than securing valuables, such as walling off a storage room or a contractor area. Welded panels install quickly and cost less, but the larger opening allows reach-through and the joints depend on welds. Many facilities run welded wire on the general perimeter and build a woven wire cage inside it for the items that carry real exposure.

What is a 2-wall wire partition?

A 2-wall Style 840 partition uses two runs of woven wire panel to close off a corner formed by two existing building walls, or it can be installed free-standing where no walls are available. The two wire sides complete the enclosure while keeping the contents visible. CustomMHS carries the full line of WireCrafters wire partitions, backed by the manufacturer's warranty.

Do I have to install this in a corner?

No. The corner installation is the common case, but free-standing installation is supported as well. Posts ship at each end for panel connection, so the partition does not need to attach to facility walls beyond the two it uses in a corner setup. That flexibility matters when a secure area has to sit in open floor space rather than against the building structure.

How does 2-wall fencing help your facility?

The direct gain is turning an existing corner into a secure, enclosed area using two runs of panel rather than four, which keeps both material cost and installation time down. Wire construction then preserves what solid walls would take away: existing overhead lighting reaches inside, HVAC and fire suppression circulate freely, and stored items stay visible for supervision and inventory checks without opening the enclosure. All panels and posts arrive tagged with numbers for assembly, and every piece of erection hardware including concrete floor anchors is included, so the install does not require sourcing anything separately.

How difficult is installation?

The panels bolt together cleanly, so most maintenance teams install the system without special tools or equipment. Panels attach to posts using standard hand tools. Because the same panel sizes work for both walls and ceilings, panels stack to reach the required height, which keeps the parts list simple and the enclosure consistent from one section to the nex
