Jesco Self-Dumping Hopper Lids (Type-A) | 14-Gauge Steel Partial-Open Lids Up to 2.5 Cu Yd

Jesco Type-A self-dumping hopper lids add a 14-gauge steel cover to compatible Jesco forklift dump hoppers, keeping scrap, waste, and bulk material contained during transport and reducing debris scatter and environmental compliance concerns at collection and staging positions. The Type-A design opens only the front half of the lid, allowing material to be loaded into the open front section while the rear of the hopper remains covered. This provides loading access without fully exposing the contents.

Important compatibility note: Type-A lids are not designed for low-profile or narrow hopper models. Verify compatibility with the specific hopper model before ordering.

Selecting the Right Lid:

♦ Match to hopper cubic yard capacity, each lid is sized for a specific hopper volume. Select the lid that matches the cubic yard rating of the hopper being fitted -- 220044 for 1-yard hoppers, 220054 for 1-1/2-yard hoppers, 220064 for 2-yard hoppers, and 220074 for 2.5-yard hoppers. Lids are not interchangeable between hopper sizes.

♦ Compatibility exclusion: Type-A lids are not available for low-profile or narrow hopper models. If the hopper is from the low-profile series (212-prefix models) or a narrow-format model, a standard Type-A lid will not fit. 

♦ Type-A front-half opening: The Type-A design opens only the front portion of the lid when material is being loaded. The rear half of the lid stays in place. This is useful for operations where the hopper is positioned under a chute or discharge point, and material falls into the front section, or where workers load the front section while the rear remains covered during filling. 

♦ Hopper size coverage, lids are only available for 1-yard through 2.5-yard hopper sizes. There are no Type-A lids for smaller hopper models (1/4, 1/3, 1/2 yard) or for the large volume series (3.0 yards and above). 

♦ Finish and color, Vista Green is the standard finish. Custom colors may be available for orders requiring color-coded equipment. Contact CustomMHS to inquire before placing an order if a specific color match is required.

♦ Scrap Collection Positions Subject to Environmental Audits, facilities that store scrap and waste in hoppers between forklift pickups use covered hoppers to reduce visible debris, prevent wind scatter of lightweight materials, and demonstrate covered containment during environmental or insurance inspections.

♦ Outdoor or Covered Dock Staging, hoppers staged outdoors or under covered dock areas where precipitation, wind, or visual management policies require contained scrap storage, use the Type-A lid to cover contents between collections without interfering with the self-dumping mechanism when the hopper is lifted and discharged.

♦ Waste Containment Near Process Equipment, hoppers positioned under conveyor discharge points, press trim chutes, or process drop zones use the lid to contain material as it falls into the hopper, reducing scatter into the surrounding area and keeping the collection zone cleaner.

♦ Facilities with Covered Scrap Requirements by Insurance or Local Code, operations where industrial insurance policies, municipal waste codes, or facility safety programs require covered scrap containers use the Type-A lid to satisfy that requirement on the 1 to 2.5-yard hopper models in their lineup.

♦ Multi-Shift Operations with Overnight Hopper Staging, hoppers that are filled during a shift and not picked up until the next shift or the following day, use lids to keep the contents contained and concealed during the interval, reducing exposure concerns and unauthorized access to the hopper contents.
