Husky Pallet Rack Upright Frames

Husky Pallet Rack Upright Frames

Husky Pallet Rack Green Upright Frames

Husky pallet rack upright frames are welded steel frames that form the vertical support structure of a selective pallet racking system. Each frame consists of two upright posts connected by diagonal bracing, ready to receive horizontal load beams. Husky frames use the industry-standard teardrop punch pattern, making them compatible with most teardrop-style beams from Husky and other major rack manufacturers.

Two post sizes cover the range from standard to heavy-duty applications. The 3" x 1-5/8" post handles conventional warehouse storage loads. The 3" x 3" post is used where higher column load capacity or greater lateral stability is required, common in taller rack systems or high-seismic regions. Standard finish is green. Frames are available in 14-gauge and 13-gauge steel; heavier gauge provides greater load capacity at the same nominal dimensions.

Fourteen models cover five heights (96", 120", 144", 192", 240") and three depths (36", 42", 48"), with post size and gauge determining capacity. Prices are shown by manufacturer model number for direct competitor comparison.

Choosing the Right Upright Frame:

Three decisions determine the correct frame: height, depth, and post size/gauge.

Height: Upright height is the clear height of the frame, which determines how many beam levels can be installed and how high the storage system can reach. Heights available are 96" (8'), 120" (10'), 144" (12'), 192" (16'), and 240" (20'). Verify ceiling clearance and any local fire code requirements for sprinkler clearance before selecting height.

Depth: Frame depth is the front-to-back measurement of the upright. This determines how deep your pallet positions will be. The 36" depth suits standard 40" deep pallets loaded from the front only. The 42" depth is the most common for standard GMA pallets loaded from either direction. The 48" depth provides added clearance for oversized pallets or double-deep rack configurations.

Post size and gauge: The 3" x 1-5/8" post (14-gauge) is the standard configuration for most conventional warehouse pallet racks. The 3" x 3" post offers higher column load capacity for taller systems, heavier unit loads, or applications requiring greater lateral stiffness. The 13-gauge SU2942144 model provides additional capacity at the 42" x 144" size for demanding applications.

Where Husky Upright Frames Are Commonly Used:

♦ New warehouse racking installations: Starting a new selective pallet rack system with Husky frames provides a clean, expandable foundation compatible with teardrop beams, wire decking, and accessories from Husky and most other rack suppliers.

♦ Expanding existing teardrop rack systems: The standard teardrop punch allows Husky frames to integrate with most existing teardrop racks in a facility, adding bays or rows without requiring a full system replacement.

♦ High-bay storage: The 192" and 240" frames suit facilities with 20'+ ceiling clearance where maximizing vertical storage density is the priority.

♦ Replacement frames for damaged uprights: Individual upright frames can be ordered to replace impact-damaged or corroded uprights in an existing installation without replacing the entire rack system.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What are Husky pallet rack upright frames used for?
Husky pallet rack upright frames are the vertical support structures that form the foundation of a pallet racking system. They hold the horizontal beams in place and provide the strength required to safely store heavy palletized loads. Upright frames are essential for building organized warehouse storage rows. They are designed for long-term durability in demanding industrial environments.
How does teardrop racking improve flexibility in warehouse storage?
Teardrop-style uprights enable quick installation and adjustment of beams without complex hardware. This makes it easier to reconfigure shelf levels as inventory sizes and storage needs change. The teardrop design is widely used because it supports efficient installation and expansion. It gives warehouses more flexibility to adapt their racking layout over time.
Why are heavy-duty upright frames important for pallet rack safety?
Heavy-duty upright frames are critical because they carry the full load weight of pallet rack storage. Strong frames help prevent bending, shifting, or failure under heavy use. They also improve stability, especially in busy warehouses with frequent forklift traffic. A well-built upright structure protects both workers and inventory.
What types of facilities benefit most from Husky upright frames?
Upright frames are commonly used in warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants, and large storage operations. Any facility storing palletized inventory needs a reliable racking foundation to maximize vertical space. These frames support efficient organization and safer material handling. They are especially valuable in high-volume storage environments.
How do upright frames support scalable racking systems?
Upright frames allow pallet racks to be expanded into longer runs or taller storage systems as operations grow. Additional bays and beam levels can be added without replacing the entire structure. This modular scalability helps businesses build storage that evolves with changing inventory demands. It is a smart investment for long-term warehouse growth.
