MECO Series 4000 Cantilever Rack Starter and Add-On Units, Heavy-Duty Industrial Storage

MECO Series 4000 Cantilever Rack Starter and Add-On Units are complete heavy-duty industrial storage systems designed for flexibility, simplicity, and efficient material organization. These cantilever rack units take the guesswork out of selecting a storage system by combining the key components needed to assemble a functional rack bay. A starter unit includes two uprights, straight arms, and brace sets to create one complete bay for storing long, bulky, or irregular materials. Add-on units allow you to expand the system as your storage needs grow.

Series 4000 models are available in upright heights of 8 ft, 10 ft, and 12 ft, giving you options based on available space, load requirements, ceiling height, and overall storage layout. A cantilever rack is especially useful for materials that are difficult to store on standard pallet racks or shelving, including pipe, tubing, lumber, bar stock, conduit, structural steel, trim, and panels. The open-front design provides easier access for loading and unloading, while the starter-and-add-on format makes it simple to build the exact length of rack your facility needs.

Twelve configurations are available across three heights, starter or add-on, and single or double-sided.

Selection Guide:

♦ Starter vs. add-on: a starter unit provides everything needed for one complete bay, including uprights and braces. An add-on unit expands an existing bay's storage capacity without duplicating those structural components, reducing cost as you grow the system.

♦ Single-sided vs. double-sided: single-sided units suit wall placement, while double-sided units suit open floor areas needing access from both sides.

♦ Upright height, 8', 10', or 12', taller heights generally pair with more, shorter arms at a lower per-arm capacity, while shorter heights use fewer, longer arms at a higher per-arm capacity. Select based on your ceiling clearance and the length of materials being stored.

♦ Component compatibility: confirm you are ordering matching Series 4000 components throughout your system, since cantilever rack components are generally not interchangeable across series.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Lumber Yard and Building Supply Storage, lumber yards and building supply operations use cantilever racks to store lumber, pipe, and long stock off the floor for easier access and inventory control.

♦ Manufacturing Raw Material Storage: Manufacturing facilities use cantilever racks to store bar stock, tubing, and structural shapes in an organized, space-efficient layout.

♦ Warehouse and Distribution Long Material Storage, warehouses and distribution centers use cantilever racks to store oversized or irregularly shaped items that don't fit standard pallet racking.

♦ Growing Facilities Needing Scalable Storage, facilities expecting future storage growth use the starter and add-on structure to build out their rack system over time without redesigning the layout.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What are MECO Series 4000 Cantilever Rack Starter and Add-On Units?
MECO Series 4000 Cantilever Rack Starter and Add-On Units are heavy-duty industrial storage systems for long and bulky materials. A starter unit creates the first complete rack bay with two uprights, straight arms, and brace sets. Add-on units connect to starter units, allowing your storage system to grow as needed. These cantilever rack units are available in 8 ft, 10 ft, and 12 ft upright heights. They help facilities organize materials that do not fit well on standard shelving or pallet rack.
How does cantilever rack help improve facility organization?
Cantilever rack helps keep long materials stored in clear, designated locations. This reduces floor clutter and makes products easier to find during daily operations. Materials like pipe, tubing, lumber, conduit, and bar stock can be separated by size or type. The open-front design allows employees to access materials without having to work around front columns. A better organization can also reduce damage caused by stacking materials on the floor.
What are the key features of the MECO Series 4000 Cantilever Rack system?
The MECO Series 4000 system includes starter and add-on units for flexible rack layouts. Starter units include two uprights, straight arms, and brace sets for one complete storage bay. Add-on units allow you to extend the rack without buying another full starter section. Upright heights of 8 ft, 10 ft, and 12 ft give you options for different storage areas. The system is designed for normal heavy-duty industrial storage requirements.
What materials are commonly stored on Series 4000 Cantilever Rack?
The Series 4000 Cantilever Rack is commonly used for long, bulky, or irregular materials. Typical items include lumber, pipe, tubing, conduit, bar stock, trim, panels, and structural steel. These products can be difficult to store on standard pallet racks or shelving. The cantilever design keeps the front of the rack open for easier loading and unloading. This makes it useful in warehouses, fabrication shops, supply houses, and lumber yards.
How can starter and add-on units help with future storage needs?
Starter and add-on units make it easier to build a storage system in stages. You can begin with a starter unit, then add more bays as inventory grows. This helps match the rack layout to your floor space, ceiling height, and material sizes. It also supports better use of vertical and horizontal storage space. For growing operations, this layout can improve material flow without replacing the entire system.
Is the manufacturer’s warranty included with my purchase?
Yes. All products sold on CustomMHS.com include the original manufacturer’s warranty unless otherwise noted. Custom MHS is an authorized dealer for the brands we carry, which means your purchase is covered by the manufacturer's full factory warranty.
