Husky Pallet Rack Components

Husky Pallet Rack Components

Enhance workplace safety with pallet rack backing panels, designed to protect workers and equipment from falling items. These panels bolt directly to the back of your existing pallet rack uprights, forming a robust barrier that secures stored items and prevents them from falling to the ground.

Know what you need? Build your sections by selecting your uprights and beams. Uprights are available in 3" x 1-5/8" frames and 3" x 3" frames. The teardrop pattern is an industry standard and accepts most teardrop-style beams. Decking for rack storage improves inventory visibility, brightens your facility, and protects your employees and products. Wire decking gives you the flexibility to store cartons, drums, and multiple pallet sizes.

Selecting the Right Type:

♦ Upright frame size: choose 3" x 1-5/8" or 3" x 3" based on your beam capacity and load requirements.
♦ Decking type: choose Wire Decking for ventilation and visibility, or Solid or Perforated Decking based on load and inventory needs.
♦ Safety needs: add Upright Frame Protectors, Row Spacers, and Wall Ties to protect the structure and improve safety around the rack system.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Warehouses and Distribution Centers: decking and backing improve inventory visibility and worker safety.
♦ Pallet Racking Expansions, uprights, and beams support the building or expansion of existing rack sections.
♦ High-Traffic Aisles, frame protectors, and row spacers reduce forklift impact damage.
♦ Multi-Pallet Storage, wire decking supports cartons, drums, and multiple pallet sizes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What components make up a pallet rack section?
A rack section is built from upright frames, step beams, and decking. Uprights are the vertical columns, beams span between them to carry the load, and decking sits on the beams to support what is stored. Everything else on this page is either a safety addition or a structural accessory. CustomMHS carries the full line of Husky, WireCrafters, and Worldwide Material Handling pallet rack components, backed by each manufacturer's warranty.
Which upright frame size should I choose?
Two sizes are available: 3" x 1-5/8" and 3" x 3". The larger frame supports higher beam capacities and heavier loads, so the choice follows the weight you plan to store rather than the height of the rack. Both use the teardrop pattern, which is an industry standard and accepts most teardrop-style beams, so components are not limited to a single manufacturer.
Should I choose wire, solid, or perforated decking?
Wire decking allows air and light through, which improves inventory visibility and brightens aisles, and it accommodates cartons, drums, and multiple pallet sizes on the same beam level. Solid decking supports smaller items that would fall through wire openings. Perforated decking sits between them, balancing load support with airflow and visibility. Wire is the most flexible default, with solid reserved for small-item storage.
What is a flue spacer, and why does it matter?
The flue space is the gap between back-to-back rack rows, and fire codes require it to stay open so sprinkler water can reach lower levels. A flue spacer such as the Worldwide WorldStop, maintains that gap so pallets do not get pushed into it during loading. This is a compliance item rather than a convenience, and it is easy to overlook when planning a back-to-back installation.
How do rack components help your facility?
Buying components rather than complete systems lets you expand an existing rack run instead of replacing it, so added capacity costs only what the new bays require. Safety additions then protect that investment: upright frame protectors absorb forklift impact that would otherwise weaken columns, wall ties anchor racking for structural stability, and wire backing panels keep items from being pushed off the back of a rack into the next aisle. WireCrafters rack doors add access control for high-value inventory stored in the rack itself, and floor tape marks aisles and rack locations so traffic patterns stay defined.
