Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is the Rousseau 62" R-Series multi-drawer tool cabinet cart?
The 62" cart is the largest and most complete mobile storage format in the R-Series lineup. At 62" wide and 46-1/2" tall, every model includes a steel work surface on top, making these full mobile workstations rather than pure drawer carts. All run on 6" polyurethane casters rated at 900 pounds each with full-extension slides and 400 pound per drawer capacity. CustomMHS is an authorized Rousseau distributor, and all purchases include the manufacturer's factory warranty.
What are the two configurations?
The 14-drawer format, the 3803 and 3804 series, has 14 drawers, a door section, and the steel top. The 8-drawer format, the 3807 and 3808 series, trades drawer count for a door section with two enclosed shelves. Both come in either 24" depth, prefix R5GHE, or 27" depth, prefix R5GHG.
Which format should I choose?
Base it on whether your working set fits drawers. The 14-drawer format gives maximum organized positions, with four 3" shallow drawers for inserts and gauges, seven 4" for mid-size tools, and two 6" plus one 8" for larger items. The 8-drawer format gives up six positions in exchange for two enclosed shelves that hold manuals, larger fixtures, and bulky components that would not fit a drawer at any height.
What is the difference between the 24" and 27" depths?
The 24" depth gives a slightly smaller footprint for tighter aisle clearance. The 27" depth adds drawer and shelf interior space for longer tools, wider trays, and items needing more front-to-back room. One thing to verify before ordering: the 27" models list two shelves in the door section, while the shelf content of the 24" 14-drawer models is worth confirming against Rousseau documentation.
How does the 62" cart help your facility?
Combining storage and a work surface in one mobile unit removes both the stationary bench and the separate tool cart from the job site, which matters most where work happens over extended periods at large equipment or production lines. In die shop support, the steel top handles setup inspection and layout work directly at the cart before tooling goes into the press. In aerospace program support, the drawers hold tooling and instruments while the door and shelf section stores documentation and calibration references, keeping the full program kit and its work surface together as it moves.
