Strong Hold Counter Height See-Thru Cabinet

Strong Hold Counter Height See-Thru Storage Cabinets | Visible Contents, Usable Top Surface
Strong Hold Counter Height See-Thru cabinets bring the visibility of the clear-view door format into a low-profile, legless cabinet with a usable flat top surface. At 36" or 42" tall without legs, the top of the cabinet serves as a counter, staging surface, or light work area while the clear-view doors allow contents to be confirmed at a glance without opening the cabinet. This combination is not available elsewhere in the clear-view cabinet lineup; every other Strong Hold clear-view model is full-height.
Construction is all-welded 12-gauge steel with premium hardware throughout: 8-gauge hinges (matching the Extreme Duty full-height series spec) and a cast bronze-aluminum 3-point locking handle with padlock compatibility. Ships fully assembled. All models include 2 shelves. Three widths (24", 36", 48"), two depths (20" and 24"), and two heights (36" and 42") make up the six configurations.

Selecting the Right Cabinet:
♦ Width and shelf capacity: The 24"-wide model carries 1,000 pounds per shelf. The 36"-wide models carry 1,600 pounds (20" deep) or 1,900 pounds (24" deep) per shelf. The 48"-wide model carries 1,200 pounds per shelf. The highest capacity in this lineup is the 36"-wide, 24"-deep configuration at 1,900 pounds per shelf.
♦ Depth, 20" vs. 24": The 20"-deep models minimize front-to-back footprint and suit under-counter installations or positions where depth clearance is constrained. The 24"-deep models provide more interior shelf space and carry higher shelf capacity on the 36"-wide configurations.
♦ Height, 36" vs. 42": The 36"-tall models sit below standard counter height (34"-36") and are suited to installation under existing countertops or for use as under-bench storage. The 42"-tall models match standard workbench height and suit positions where the cabinet top itself serves as the counter surface. Verify installation height requirements before ordering.
♦ Counter surface vs. full-height cabinet: Unlike the full-height Strong Hold Clear View series, these counter-height cabinets are designed for positions where a flat top surface is needed or where full height is not possible. The trade-off is fewer shelves (2 vs. 3-4 in full-height models) and lower total storage volume per unit. If maximum storage volume is the priority, a full-height clear-view cabinet is the better choice.
♦ 8-gauge hinges: Heavier than standard industrial cabinet hinges, providing better door alignment retention and resistance to hinge wear under frequent access and heavy daily use. The same hinge specification as the Strong Hold Extreme Duty full-height series is applied here to the counter-height format.
♦ Cast aluminum bronze alloy handle with padlock compatibility: Premium locking hardware consistent with the Extreme Duty series. The alloy handle is harder than standard cast handles, and the padlock provision allows a separately keyed padlock to be added for dual-lock security.
Where Commonly Used:
♦ Tool Cribs with Counter Service: A counter-height clear-view cabinet at the tool crib window serves as both the issuing counter surface and the visible locked storage beneath it. The crib attendant can confirm tool inventory through the clear-view doors while using the cabinet top as the transaction surface.
♦ Under-Counter Storage with Visibility: Installing a clear-view cabinet in the space below an existing counter where visible, locked storage adds value beyond standard opaque under-counter cabinetry -- allowing supervisors or inspectors to verify contents from outside the counter area without requiring the counter to be unlocked.
♦ Assembly and Production Support Counters: Counter-height, clear-view storage adjacent to assembly areas, where operators and supervisors can see at a glance whether supplies, fixtures, or components are stocked and in position, with the cabinet top serving as a brief staging or inspection surface.
♦ Low-Ceiling and Mezzanine Installations: Areas with overhead clearance constraints that preclude full-height cabinets benefit from the 36" or 42" configurations, which provide visible, locked storage in a compact height that fits within limited vertical space.
♦ Quality Control and Inspection Counters: A visible, locked counter-height cabinet in a QC area allows instruments, gauges, and reference samples to be seen without opening the cabinet, while the usable top surface serves as the inspection and documentation area at the same position.
♦ Service Counters in Shared Workspaces: Any position requiring a service or staging counter AND visible locked storage below, in a single unit that ships assembled and needs no separate counter or cabinetry construction.
