Strong Hold Lower Half Drawer Cabinet

Strong Hold Lower Half Drawer Storage Cabinets | Lower Drawers, Upper Shelving, 12-Gauge Steel
Strong Hold lower-half drawer storage cabinets organize the interior into two distinct zones: six full-extension drawers in the lower section for frequently accessed tools, parts, and supplies, and adjustable shelving in the upper section for bulk storage of larger or heavier items. Placing the drawers in the lower half keeps commonly used items at or below waist height, where they are easiest to reach without straining. The upper shelves carry up to 1,650 pounds and handle equipment, supplies, and parts that are accessed less frequently or are too large for drawers.
Each drawer carries 225 pounds and extends fully for unobstructed access to the entire drawer interior. Construction is 12-gauge all-welded steel with 8-gauge hinges, a cast aluminum bronze alloy handle, and a 3-point locking system with a padlock hasp. Ships fully assembled. All three models are 78" high and 24" deep. Three widths are available: 48", 60", and 72".

Selecting the Right Cabinet:
♦ Width: the three models are identical in height, drawer count, drawer capacity, and shelf configuration. Width governs the footprint at the installation position and the lateral span of both the drawer and shelf sections. The 48"-wide model suits tighter bays or single-user positions. The 60"-wide model provides more lateral space across all sections and carries a slightly different shelf capacity at that width tier. The 72"-wide model is the widest and provides maximum storage span in both the drawer and shelf zones.
♦ Lower-half drawer layout vs. mixed layout, the 36"-wide drawer cabinet series (path 1069) places drawers and shelves in varying ratios throughout the full cabinet height. The lower-half format places all drawers in the lower zone and all shelves above them -- a fixed layout that optimizes ergonomic access for frequent-use items in the drawers while keeping the heavier shelf capacity for bulk storage above. Choose the lower-half format when the ergonomic advantage of lower-positioned drawers is a priority and the drawer/shelf split position is not required to vary.
♦ Upper shelf load capacity: the shelves carry up to 1,650 pounds. This handles heavy containers, power tools, equipment, and dense bulk supplies. Confirm shelf capacity against the planned load for each shelf before ordering, particularly for the widest models, where the distributed weight across a wider span should be factored in.
Where Commonly Used:
♦ Production Line-Side Stations: Operators who frequently access small tools and components during a shift keep those items in the lower drawers at ergonomic reach height, while larger fixtures, part kits, and supplies are stored on upper shelves, accessed less often and thus positioned higher.
♦ Maintenance Technician Workstations: Technicians who use specific hand tools repeatedly during the shift keep them in the lower drawers without bending or reaching overhead, with spare parts, fluids, and less-used equipment on the shelves above.
♦ Shared Department Storage with Ergonomic Requirements: shared cabinets in departments with multiple users benefit from drawer contents at comfortable reach height, reducing awkward postures during frequent retrieval in high-throughput environments.
♦ Tool Accountability Positions with Frequent Access, positions where tools are retrieved and returned many times per shift, benefit from the lower-drawer layout that reduces the retrieval motion required and keeps the complete tool set organized and lockable at shift end.
