Loading docks concentrate more risk per square foot than almost anywhere else in a facility: trailers shifting during loading, forklifts crossing a gap between the truck bed and the dock floor, and pedestrians moving through the same lanes as powered equipment. The right dock setup controls that risk at three points: safely bridging the gap between trailer and dock, controlling who and what has access to the dock area, and containing pressurized cylinders and propane stored nearby.
