The WireCrafters 4-Wall Style 840 RapidWire Security Cage is constructed from robust 10-gauge wire arranged in a 2" square mesh pattern. Each wire is securely welded to the next, so the mesh maintains structural integrity even when modified to accommodate obstructions. This design allows for controlled access while maintaining clear visibility into the property. The open yet secure nature of the wire partitions allows viewing of stored items and the property, optimizes existing lighting, and promotes free circulation for HVAC and fire suppression systems.

Wire is 10 gauge in a 2" x 2" welded pattern, with a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" x 1/8" angle frame. All panels and posts are tagged with numbers for easy assembly. Standard 3/8" assembly hardware is the heaviest in the industry, and all necessary erection hardware, including concrete floor anchors, is included. Standard color is Gray.

2" x 2" welded wire is usually enough when:

When to Use 2" x 1" Woven Wire Over 2" x 2" Welded Wire

Both mesh types stop casual access, but they fail differently and protect against different threats. The first question is whether the barrier is providing security or separation.

Woven mesh interlocks at every crossing rather than fusing. Cutting one strand doesn't open a hole because the surrounding weave still holds the pattern in place. Welded mesh relies on the weld at each intersection, so breaking a few welds can open a gap faster. The 2" x 1" opening also matters as much as the wire itself. A 1-inch dimension blocks a hand and forearm, preventing you from reaching through to a latch, a lock, or the inventory sitting just inside the line. A 2" x 2" opening does not.
