The mesh is 10 gauge wire in a 2" x 1" woven pattern that interlocks at every crossing, set in a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" x 1/8" angle frame. The 1" dimension blocks a hand and forearm, which keeps reach-through access to a latch, a lock or stock near the fence line to a minimum. Posts are 2" x 2" square tube in 14 gauge, and the system is bolted together with 3/8" grade two plated bolts placed so they cannot be reached from outside. It ships with concrete floor anchors and the erection hardware, and the standard finish is gray enamel for interior use.

A 4-wall cage does not depend on any existing wall, which makes it the choice for the middle of a floor or any layout without a usable wall. If you can use one, two or three existing walls, a 3-wall, 2-wall or 1-wall system uses fewer panels. Ceiling panels are interchangeable with wall panels and span up to 30 ft, but they are not load bearing. The mesh itself is not a machine guard, so use a dedicated guarding system where a risk assessment calls for one.

Selecting the Right Model
◆ Wall count, a 4-wall system stands on its own, so choose a 1-wall, 2-wall or 3-wall style when you can use existing walls to save panels
◆ Size, the table lists sizes from 6'-6" x 6'-4" to 28'-8" x 28'-8", so measure the floor space and pick the closest model
◆ Height, stock heights are 8'-5-1/4", 10'-5-1/4" and 12'-5-1/4", and a full-height or ceiling-capped cage prevents climbing over
◆ Ceiling, add a ceiling when you need to stop climbing over or into the cage, and note that ceiling panels span up to 30 ft and are not load bearing
◆ Door, hinged doors are 3' or 4' wide with a 7'-3-1/4" opening, while sliding doors run 3' to 10' wide and need a clear wall run beside the opening equal to the door width
◆ Mesh, choose 2" x 1" woven wire for tools, electronics and controlled stock, or 2" x 2" welded wire for boundaries and traffic control, since welded is about 25 to 33% lighter at the same panel size
◆ Lock, price the lock and exit hardware early, since options range from key locks to card readers and cost varies by more than ten to one
