Quantum Magnum Large Part Bins

Quantum Magnum large-part bins are injection-molded from extra-strong, high-density polypropylene for heavy parts that standard plastic bins cannot hold. Reinforced ribbed walls and double-wall thickness with a preformed interlocking lip allow stable stacking of up to 150 pounds per bin. An open hopper front keeps contents visible and accessible. A rear-molded handle makes lifting and repositioning practical even when the bin is heavily loaded. Molded-in label slots support standardized identification.

The operating temperature range is -40°F to 250°F, covering cold storage, freezer environments, and high-temperature applications. The polypropylene construction resists most solvents and is impervious to corrosion, rust, and decay. Five color options are available: blue, yellow, green, red, and black to support color-coded organization. Dividers and optional clear windows are available for the four 531-543 bin models.

Selecting the Right Bin:

♦ Size, the QMS531 is the smallest and shallowest at 5-7/8" high, suited for large but relatively flat parts. The QMS532 adds height for bulkier parts at the same footprint. The QMS533 is the tallest in the 12-3/8"-wide format at 11-7/8" high. The QMS543 widens to 18-3/8" for parts that need more lateral space. The QMS743 extends the length to 29" for the longest parts in this series.

♦ 150-pound stacking capacity, this is the per-bin stacking load, the weight that can be placed on top of a loaded bin without the bin deforming. This is not the per-bin content capacity. Verify with Quantum that the actual loaded bin weight is within the stacking limit before stacking multiple bins.

♦ Temperature range -40°F to 250°F, this range covers freezer storage, cold chain applications, outdoor storage in extreme cold, and high-temperature indoor environments near heat sources or process equipment. Standard plastic bins are typically not rated for extreme cold and can become brittle.

♦ Clear window option, the WMS-prefix clear windows fit into the hopper front of the bin, partially enclosing the contents while maintaining visibility. This prevents spillage of small parts while allowing visual confirmation of contents without opening or removing the window. Windows are available for QMS531, 532, 533, and 543. No window is for QMS743.

♦ Divider option, the DMS-prefix dividers subdivide the bin interior for multiple part types. Dividers are available for QMS531, 532, 533, and 543. No divider for QMS743

♦ Color options: five colors are available: blue, yellow, green, red, and black. Color coding by material type, department, shift, or product family improves picking accuracy and inventory visibility at a glance. 

♦ Magnum vs. Kadon hopper box, both the Magnum and the Kadon HH-series are heavy-duty hopper-front plastic bins with 150-pound ratings. The Kadon is available in 2 sizes; the Quantum Magnum is available in 5 sizes with accessory options. The Magnum's temperature range (-40°F to 250°F) and color options are additional differentiators. Choose based on size availability, accessory needs, and color requirements.

♦ Receiving and Incoming Large Parts Staging, receiving departments staging large incoming components, sub-assemblies, and hardware in heavy-duty bins that can be stacked in the receiving area until put away without risking bin failure under load.

♦ Production Floor Large Component Storage, production cells staging large castings, machined components, fabricated parts, and sub-assemblies in heavy-duty bins at the line where standard small-parts bins would be inadequate for the part size or weight.

♦ Maintenance Parts Storage for Large Heavy Components, maintenance departments storing large replacement parts -- motors, pumps, valves, gearboxes, and heavy fittings -- in stackable labeled bins that can be organized by equipment type or part category on shelving.

♦ Cold Storage and Freezer Applications, cold storage facilities storing large food items, medical products, or industrial parts in freezer environments use the -40°F rating to ensure the bins do not become brittle or fail under extreme cold with repeated handling.

♦ Color-Coded Production Floor Organization, facilities using color-coded bin systems to identify material by product line, department, shift, or process stage, use the five available Magnum colors to establish and maintain a visible organization system across a large bin inventory.
