The Amherst AM-Series Ergonomic Chair features a range of enhancements designed to improve user performance and comfort. It includes a spacious, saddle-shaped seat and an ergonomically contoured backrest with lumbar support, both of which are customizable to suit different environments and budgets. The seat measures 21 inches wide by 19 inches deep and is 3 inches thick, featuring a waterfall front and an internal seat board bumper guard for added durability. The high-profile, Euro-style base is crafted with T-shaped construction for increased strength and ease of cleaning.

The chair comes standard with a variety of adjustable controls, including Soft Touch pneumatic seat-height adjustment, a fixed rearward seat tilt of 3-1/2 degrees, and adjustable backrest tilt and height. For mobility, it features dual-wheel, non-marring polyurethane casters that resist rolling when unoccupied, helping prevent the chair from moving away on hard surfaces. Alternatively, 2-inch-high polyamide glides are available, along with other caster styles.

The metal parts feature a standard black powder-coated paint finish, with other color options available. The chair also offers a wide selection of cloth and vinyl upholstery styles and supports up to 350 pounds.

To find your ideal seat height, subtract 12 inches from your work surface height. Use that number as the mid-point of the seat height adjustment range you choose. For example, a 40-inch work surface minus 12 inches equals a 28-inch midpoint, which points toward a Medium-height range model.
