Lift Carts for Transport

Lift Carts for Transport

Lift carts for transport combine mobility with height adjustment, letting operators bring a load to the right working height without a separate lifting station. CustomMHS offers manual, battery-powered, self-leveling, and mobile rover configurations from Autoquip and Lift Products, suited for frequent repositioning between work areas.

Product Lines Available:

♦ Manual Scissor Lift Cart, manually operated scissor lift raises and positions loads at the point of work
♦ Battery Scissor Lift Cart, battery-powered lifting reduces operator effort for frequent height adjustments
♦ Self-Leveling Carts, automatically maintain a consistent working height as material is removed
♦ Lift Products Linear Actuated Lift Cart, linear actuator provides smooth, precise height adjustment during positioning

Selecting the Right Type:

♦ Power source: choose Manual for lower-frequency lifting, or Battery-Powered for frequent height adjustments with less operator effort.
♦ Load presentation: choose Self-Leveling carts when material needs to stay at a consistent working height as it's removed.
♦ Mobility needs: choose the Autoquip Series 35 Rover for a mobile design that brings scissor lift capability directly to the point of use.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Assembly and Packing Stations, lift carts bring materials to proper working height and move between stations.
♦ Staging and Work Cells, mobile designs reposition quickly as tasks change throughout the day.
♦ Frequent Repositioning Workflows, battery-powered lifting reduces operator effort across repeated height adjustments.
♦ Point-of-Use Material Presentation, self-leveling carts maintain consistent height as material is picked or loaded.

CustomMHS carries the full line of Autoquip and Lift Products lift carts, backed by each manufacturer's warranty.

Not sure which lift cart fits?

Start with how often the platform actually moves. If a load is set once and worked from that position, manual is the practical and cheaper choice. If the height changes repeatedly across a shift, battery-powered removes that effort. Self-leveling is a different question again: it rises on its own as material comes off, so the top of the stack stays put.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is a lift cart?

A lift cart combines a mobile cart with a height-adjustable platform, so an operator can move a load between areas and then raise it to the right working height without transferring it to a separate lifting station. Most models use a scissor mechanism, though linear-actuated versions are also available. CustomMHS carries the full line of Autoquip and Lift Products lift carts, backed by each manufacturer's warranty.

What configurations are available?

Five options cover the range. Manual scissor lift carts raise and position loads with operator effort. Battery scissor lift carts use powered lifting to reduce that effort. Self-leveling carts automatically hold the load at a set working height. Lift Products linear-actuated lift carts use an actuator for smooth, precise positioning. The Autoquip Series 35 Rover is a mobile rover design that brings scissor lift capability directly to the point of use.

Should I choose manual or battery powered?

The deciding factor is how often the platform actually moves up and down. For lower frequency lifting, where a load is set once and worked from that position, a manual scissor lift cart is the practical and more economical choice. For frequent height adjustments across a shift, battery-powered lifting removes the repeated physical effort, which matters both for productivity and for reducing operator strain over time.

What do self-leveling carts do differently?

A self-leveling cart senses the weight on the platform and raises it as material is removed, so the top of the stack stays at roughly the same height. Without that, an operator starts a stack at a comfortable reach and ends up bending to the bottom of an empty cart. Self-leveling carts are the right choice at picking, packing, and loading positions where material is removed layer by layer over the course of a shift.

How do lift carts help your facility?

The main gain is removing the awkward reaching, bending, and lifting that come from working at a fixed platform height, which is where a large share of material handling injuries originate. Combining transport and lifting in one unit also cuts a handling step, since material does not have to be moved from a cart onto a separate lift table before work begins. At assembly and packing stations, carts bring material to the operator at the right height and then move on to the next station as tasks change. In work cells and staging areas, mobile designs let you reposition the presentation point during the day rather than building the workflow around where a stationary lift happens to sit.
