MECO Cantilever Series 1000 Structural Brace Sets

These structural channel brace sets bolt between pairs of Series 1000 uprights to provide lateral stability for the cantilever rack system. One brace set is required for each bay in the row. Brace sets are sold as complete sets rather than individual pieces: sets for 6' to 8' uprights include two braces per set, and sets for 10' to 12' uprights include three braces per set. Standard color is gray.

Series 1000 brace sets are compatible only with Series 1000 uprights. They are not interchangeable with other MECO rack series.

Choosing the Right Brace Set:

Two decisions determine the correct model: upright height group and brace length.

Step 1: Select the upright height group. The M2B models are for 6' to 8' uprights (two braces per set). The M3B models are for 10' to 12' uprights (three braces per set). Match the group to the uprights already in your system.

Step 2: Measure centerline to centerline. Brace length is measured from the centerline of one upright to the centerline of the next upright in the row -- not the overall gap between uprights and not the overall row length. The nominal model number approximates this dimension, but the actual brace width is consistently 1" less than the model number (M2B24 braces are 23" wide, M2B36 are 35" wide, and so on). Measure your centerline spacing before ordering.

Available brace lengths:

♦ M2B24 / M3B24: 23" actual width. For the tightest upright spacing.

♦ M2B36 / M3B36: 35" actual width.

♦ M2B42 / M3B42: 41" actual width.

♦ M2B48 / M3B48: 47" actual width. The most common spacing for standard bay layouts.

♦ M2B60 / M3B60: 59" actual width.

♦ M2B72 / M3B72: 71" actual width.

♦ M2B84 / M3B84: 83" actual width.

♦ M2B96 / M3B96: 95" actual width. For the widest bay spacing in the Series 1000 system.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the difference between the M2B and M3B models?
The two groups are matched to upright height. M2B brace sets are for 6 to 8 foot uprights and include two braces per set. M3B brace sets are for 10 to 12 foot uprights and include three braces per set. Match the group to the uprights already in your system rather than to the brace length you need.
How do I measure for the correct brace length?
Measure from the centerline of one upright to the centerline of the next upright in the row. That is not the same as the open gap between uprights, and it is not the overall row length. Getting this measurement right before ordering is the single most important step, since brace length is fixed once the uprights are set.
Why is the actual brace width one inch less than the model number?
The model number is a nominal figure that approximates the centerline-to-centerline dimension, while the actual brace measures one inch less. An M2B24 is 23 inches wide, an M2B36 is 35 inches, an M2B48 is 47 inches, and so on through the range. Order by the model number that matches your centerline spacing, not by the actual width.
What brace lengths are available?
Eight lengths in both groups: 23, 35, 41, 47, 59, 71, 83, and 95 inches actual width, corresponding to model numbers 24 through 96. The 47 inch M2B48 and M3B48 are the most common spacing for standard bay layouts. The 23 inch models cover the tightest upright spacing and the 95 inch models cover the widest.
How many brace sets do I need?
No. Series 1000 brace sets work only with Series 1000 uprights and are not interchangeable with other MECO rack series. When adding to an existing system, confirm the uprights are Series 1000 before ordering, since a mismatch affects fit and lateral stability.
