Husky 42x120 Add-On Pallet Racking

Husky 42x120 Add-on Pallet Racking Section

Husky 42x120 Add-On Pallet Racking, Expandable Warehouse Storage System

Husky 42" deep x 120" high Add-on Warehouse Pallet Racking is designed to extend an existing rack row without rebuilding an entire section. It features two teardrop punches side by side on 2" centers, and Husky Beams are adjustable every 2 inches, letting you fine-tune shelf levels as pallet heights and inventory change.

The teardrop pattern is an industry standard and accepts most teardrop-style beams, making this system compatible with most other manufacturers' teardrop patterns. Beams feature the patented Bowlock safety clip, which cannot be sprung or removed without first removing the beam and requires no special tools, supporting faster and safer installation and reconfiguration.

Pallet racking like this is used to store bulk loads that traditionally take up floor space, and it's designed to be loaded and accessed efficiently with forklifts. Use add-on units to complete the row, sharing a common upright with the adjacent bay to expand storage without duplicating structural components. Eighteen configurations are available across six widths, multiple beam capacities, and with or without wire decking.

Selection Guide:

♦ Width, from 48" up to 144", select based on the pallet footprint and the total horizontal storage span needed per bay.

♦ Beam capacity, ranging from 3,000 lbs up to 8,873 lbs per pair depending on width and configuration, should be selected based on the weight of the palletized loads being stored.

♦ Wire decking, adding wire decking provides support for cartons, smaller items, and packaging materials that could otherwise fall through open beams, particularly useful in mixed-load storage.

♦ Add-on unit expansion: connect to an existing starter bay to add storage capacity without a full second set of uprights, an efficient way to scale storage as inventory grows.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Warehouse and Distribution Bulk Pallet Storage: warehouses and distribution centers use add-on units to expand organized, high-density rows of pallet storage.

♦ Manufacturing Raw Material and Finished Goods Storage: Manufacturing facilities use this racking to store palletized raw materials and finished goods vertically, freeing up floor space for production.

♦ Fulfillment Center High-Volume Storage: Fulfillment centers use add-on units to scale storage capacity as inventory grows without rebuilding existing rows.

♦ Mixed Load Storage with Wire Decking: Facilities storing a mix of palletized and smaller boxed items use the wire decking option to prevent smaller items from falling through open beams.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is a Husky 42x120 add-on pallet racking unit used for?
A Husky 42x120 add-on pallet racking unit is designed to expand an existing pallet rack row in warehouse and industrial storage environments. It connects to a starter bay to add more pallet storage space without requiring a full independent rack section. Add-on units are ideal for increasing capacity while maintaining a consistent rack layout. They help warehouses scale storage efficiently as inventory grows.
How does the 42x120 size support expandable warehouse storage?
The deeper rack depth provides extra space for larger pallets and bulk inventory loads, while the wide span offers increased horizontal storage capacity per level. This makes it well-suited for facilities handling oversized goods or high-volume palletized inventory. The size increases storage density without increasing floor space. It delivers strong, flexible storage performance for growing operations.
Why are add-on bays important in modular pallet racking systems?
Add-on bays allow warehouses to extend existing pallet rack systems without rebuilding or replacing the original structure. They provide a cost-effective way to expand storage while keeping layouts uniform and organized. This modular approach supports long-term growth planning. Add-on units make it simple to adapt racking systems to changing inventory demands.
What types of facilities benefit most from Husky add-on pallet racking?
Add-on pallet racking is commonly used in distribution centers, manufacturing plants, fulfillment warehouses, and bulk storage facilities. Any operation needing to increase palletized inventory storage benefits from expandable rack sections. These units maximize vertical storage while keeping products accessible. They are essential for high-density warehouse environments.
How does pallet rack expansion improve workflow and organization?
Expanding pallet racking creates more defined storage locations, reducing floor clutter and improving traffic flow for forklifts and workers. Additional rack space supports faster picking, easier replenishment, and better inventory control. It also reduces overcrowding that can lead to product damage. A well-planned expansion improves efficiency and warehouse safety.
