Heavy-Duty Scissor Lift Tables for Safer Load Positioning

Industrial Heavy-Duty Scissor Lift Tables for Ergonomic Material Handling

Industrial heavy-duty scissor lift tables raise, lower, and hold loads at a set working height using a scissor mechanism under the platform. Positioning a pallet or assembly at the operator’s working height removes repetitive bending, reaching, and lifting, which is where many material handling injuries begin. A table that holds a consistent height also gives operators better control during loading, unloading, assembly, inspection, and packaging, so work moves faster and parts are handled more accurately.

Duty cycle matters as much as capacity. Capacity says whether a lift can raise the load once, and duty cycle says whether it can do so all day for years. Nearly every table here is intermittent duty, which suits a workstation where an operator raises a pallet, works on it, and lowers it. Count the cycles the station runs in its busiest hour. If a lift is part of an automated line or runs at high cycle rates, ask about a continuous-duty build. Manufacturers publish duty figures in different units, so confirm the rating for your specific model in writing.

Product Lines:

Heavy-duty scissor lift tables from five manufacturers: Blue Giant Standard Duty (2,000 to 6,000 lb); Bishamon Alpha (2,200 to 6,600 lb, including rotating-top versions) and Bishamon Compact (440 to 1,650 lb); Presto-Lifts XL-Series and Wide Base (2,000 to 8,000 lb), Double (500 to 4,000 lb), XS-Series (1,000 to 1,500 lb), and Manual (1,000 to 2,000 lb); Autoquip Series 35 (2,500 to 8,000 lb) with Extra Narrow, Extra Wide, and Double Long variations (up to 24,000 lb), TorkLift (2,200 to 20,000 lb), Compact (500 to 12,000 lb), and the Series 35 Rover mobile table; and Lift Products Guardian (1,100 lb), Max-M22/33, Max-Lift, G-Series, Roto-Max with rotation, and the SXT-Series stainless steel table (4,000 lb).

Selecting the Right Model:

♦ Capacity, choose based on the heaviest load handled regularly including the pallet, and allow more margin if the load rolls onto the platform rather than being set down.
♦ Lowered and raised height, choose based on the height at which loads enter the table and the working height you need at the top, since raised height equals lowered height plus travel.
♦ Platform and base, choose a wide base family such as Presto Wide Base or Autoquip Extra Wide when the load is both bulky and heavy, because a larger top on a standard base derates capacity, and choose an extra narrow model for tight aisles.
♦ Duty, choose a standard intermittent-duty table for workstations and ask about continuous-duty builds for lifts that cycle frequently or feed a production line.
♦ Special needs, choose the SXT-Series stainless steel table for washdown or food-grade environments, the Bishamon rotating-top Alpha or Lift Products Roto-Max where operators need to reach every side of the load, or the Series 35 Rover for mobile positioning.

Where Commonly Used:

Scissor lift tables are used in warehouses and distribution centers to position pallets at working height, in manufacturing and assembly areas to keep load height consistent through production tasks, in maintenance departments for safer access during service work, and at shipping and packaging stations to reduce fatigue during repetitive loading and packing.

CustomMHS is an authorized distributor of Autoquip, Bishamon, Blue Giant, Lift Products, and Presto-Lifts. All purchases include the manufacturer’s factory warranty.

Not sure which scissors lift table fits?

Capacity tells you whether a scissor lift can raise your load once, but duty cycle tells you whether it will keep doing it all day, and each of the five brands publishes it in different units. Our Lift Tables by Brand guide explains how to compare them and what to ask before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is a heavy duty scissor lift table?

A heavy duty scissor lift table uses a scissor mechanism under a platform to raise, lower, and hold loads at a set working height. Unlike lighter duty models, these are built for high cycle counts and demanding daily use, which is why they hold up in warehouses, manufacturing plants, assembly areas, maintenance departments, and shipping stations. CustomMHS carries scissor lift tables from Autoquip, Bishamon, Presto-Lifts, Blue Giant, and Lift Products, backed by each manufacturer's warranty

What capacities and travel ranges are available?

The range is wide, so specification matters more than brand. Capacities run from 440 pounds on the Bishamon Compact up to 24,000 pounds on the Autoquip Series 35 Double Long. Travel ranges vary just as much, from about 5" to 41" on the Presto-Lifts XS-Series up to 6" to 94" on the Autoquip Compact. Match capacity to the heaviest load handled regularly, then confirm that the travel range covers both your lowest loading position and your highest working height.

How do I choose the right platform size and shape?

Start with the load footprint, since the platform should support the load fully rather than leaving edges unsupported. From there, the layout usually decides the rest. Extra narrow models such as the Autoquip Series 35 Extra Narrow fit tight aisles and confined work cells. Extra-wide and double-long models handle oversized or long material that would overhang a standard platform. Wide base models from Presto-Lifts add stability where the load is tall or off-center.

When do I need a rotating top or a mobile model?

A rotating top lets an operator turn the load rather than walk around it, which matters in assembly, welding, and packaging work where all sides of a part have to be reached. Bishamon Alpha models are available with rotating tops, and Lift Products Roto-Max offers the same capability. Mobile models such as the Autoquip Series 35 Rover put lifting capability on casters, so the table travels to the work instead of the work coming to a fixed station. Stainless models, including the Lift Products SXT-Series, cover washdown and sanitary environments.

How do heavy duty scissor lift tables help your facility?

The main gain is removing repetitive bending, reaching, and lifting from the workflow, which is where a large share of material handling injuries begin and where fatigue quietly slows a shift down. Positioning a pallet or load at the operator's working height also improves control during loading, unloading, assembly, inspection, and packaging, so parts are handled more accurately and dropped less often. Because the platform holds a set height, workers stop adjusting their posture to reach the load and instead work from a consistent position all shift. In high cycle environments, the durable construction means the table stays in service rather than becoming a maintenance item, which keeps the station running.
