Vestil Lift and Tilt Scissors Lift Carts

Vestil Lift and Tilt Scissors Lift Carts

Vestil Lift and Tilt Scissors Lift Carts | Hydraulic Lift Plus Tilt, 400 to 1,000 lb

Vestil lift-and-tilt scissor lift carts combine a foot-pump hydraulic scissor lift with a platform that tilts toward the operator, bringing the contents of bins, totes, and containers to a more accessible angle for picking, sorting, assembly, and kitting tasks. Lifting and tilting together reduces reaching and bending into containers. Operators can position the loaded platform at both the right height and the right angle for comfortable access.

Four models are available in two operating configurations. The CART-400-LT and CART-600-LT use a foot-activated hydraulic cylinder for elevation, with the platform tilting to 45° at maximum height. The CART-1000-LT and CART-1000-LT-PSS use a manual selector valve that independently controls lift and tilt functions, allowing precise sequencing of height and angle. The CART-1000-LT-PSS is constructed in stainless steel for food service, pharmaceutical, and washdown environments.

All models include a retaining lip to prevent contents from shifting while tilted. Polyurethane casters with brakes on the swivel casters provide mobility and stable, stationary positioning.

Models and Specifications:

♦ CART-400-LT, 19-1/2" W, 30" L platform. Lift range 13" to 31". Capacity 400 lbs. Maximum tilt 45° at maximum height. Foot-activated hydraulic elevation. Retaining lip. Poly casters with brakes on swivel casters.

♦ CART-600-LT, 24" W, 36" L platform. Lift range 14" to 35". Capacity 600 lbs. Maximum tilt 45° at maximum height. Foot-activated hydraulic elevation. Retaining lip. Poly casters with brakes on swivel casters. Larger platform than CART-400-LT.

♦ CART-1000-LT, 22" W, 33-1/2" L platform. Lift range 17-5/8" to 34-1/4". Capacity 1,000 lbs. Maximum tilt 35°. Manual selector valve for independent lift and tilt control. 7" retaining lip. Poly casters.

♦ CART-1000-LT-PSS, 22" W, 33-5/8" L platform. Lift range 17-1/2" to 35". Capacity 1,000 lbs. Maximum tilt 40°. Manual selector valve for independent lift and tilt control. 7" retaining lip. Stainless steel construction for washdown environments. Significantly higher price than the standard CART-1000-LT.

Selecting the Right Model:

♦ Tilt angle, CART-400-LT and CART-600-LT tilt to 45°. The CART-1000-LT tilts to 35°. The CART-1000-LT-PSS tilts to 40°. Higher tilt angles bring bin contents more directly toward the operator, reducing reach depth. If maximum tilt is the priority, the CART-400-LT and CART-600-LT provide the greatest angle.

♦ Lift and tilt control, the CART-400-LT and CART-600-LT tilt at maximum height only. The CART-1000-LT and CART-1000-LT-PSS use a selector valve for independent lift and tilt, allowing the operator to set any combination of height and angle without being constrained to tilt only at the top of the lift range.

♦ Capacity, CART-400-LT handles 400 lbs. CART-600-LT handles 600 lbs. CART-1000-LT and CART-1000-LT-PSS handle 1,000 lbs each. Select a model rated comfortably above the typical load for the bin or container.

♦ Stainless steel vs. standard, the CART-1000-LT-PSS is constructed in stainless steel for environments requiring corrosion resistance and washdown compatibility. If standard steel construction is adequate for the environment, the CART-1000-LT offers the same capacity and a similar lift range at a significantly lower cost.

♦ Platform size, the CART-400-LT (19-1/2" x 30") and CART-1000-LT (22" x 33-1/2") are compact. The CART-600-LT (24" x 36") provides the largest platform surface in the lineup. Match the platform to the footprint of the most commonly used bins or containers.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Bin and Tote Picking Operations, order picking, and kitting operations where workers repeatedly reach into bins and totes, use the lift-and-tilt platform to bring the open end of the container toward the operator, reducing deep reaches and awkward hand-and-arm positions during high-volume picking shifts.

♦ Assembly Line Parts Feeding, assembly operations feeding small parts from containers to the assembly point use the tilt function to angle the parts container toward the assembler, reducing the time and motion spent retrieving parts from flat or floor-level container positions during production cycles.

♦ Sorting and Inspection Stations, sorting and inspection stations where workers must visually access and manually sort through container contents, use the tilt capability to bring the load face toward the operator's line of sight, improving sorting accuracy and reducing neck and back strain from looking down into flat containers.

♦ Food Service and Pharmaceutical Handling, washdown environments requiring stainless steel contact surfaces use the CART-1000-LT-PSS for the combination of hydraulic lift and tilt capability, independent valve control, and stainless construction that meets sanitation requirements in food processing, pharmaceutical, and laboratory environments.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is a Vestil lift and tilt scissors lift cart used for?
A Vestil lift-and-tilt scissor lift cart is designed to raise and tilt loads, allowing workers to access materials more comfortably. It combines vertical lifting with an ergonomic tilting platform, making it ideal for picking parts, loading containers, or handling bulk items. This type of cart is especially useful when frequent bending or reaching would otherwise slow down productivity. It is a proven solution for safer and more efficient material handling.
How does the raise and tilt feature improve ergonomics?
The ability to both elevate and tilt the platform brings materials closer to the operator, reducing strain on the back, shoulders, and arms. Tilt positioning is especially helpful when working with bins, totes, or small components that require frequent access. This ergonomic design supports faster workflow and less fatigue during long shifts. Over time, it can also help reduce injury risks in high-repetition environments.
How does the manual hydraulic foot pump system work?
The manual hydraulic foot pump allows operators to lift loads smoothly without electricity or powered equipment. By pumping with the foot, workers can keep their hands free to stabilize materials while adjusting the height. Lowering is controlled through a release mechanism for safe, gradual descent. This simple system delivers reliable lifting performance with minimal maintenance.
What is the purpose of the retaining lip on the platform?
The retaining lip helps prevent items from sliding off the platform, especially when the cart is tilted or being moved. This added safety feature is important when handling loose parts, boxes, or containers that could shift during transport. It improves load stability and reduces the chance of product damage or workplace accidents. For busy facilities, this extra control makes the cart more dependable.
Why are polyurethane casters important for lift carts?
Polyurethane casters provide smooth rolling movement while supporting heavy loads without damaging floors. They offer excellent durability and resist wear better than standard rubber wheels in industrial settings. These casters also improve maneuverability, making it easier to position the cart where it is needed. For frequent transport tasks, poly wheels contribute to long-term performance and control.
