Wesco Manual High Lift Pallet Skid Truck

The Wesco manual high lift pallet skid truck combines the mobility of a standard pallet truck with an elevated lift height for ergonomic load positioning. A foot-operated hydraulic pump raises the forks from a near-floor starting position (3.3" to 3.6" lowered) to a maximum working height of 31" to 31.5", bringing palletized loads to a comfortable height for working, staging, or inspection. This eliminates the need for a separate pallet positioner in applications where both transport and lift are required from the same piece of equipment.

Six models are available across two capacity tiers (2,200 lb and 3,300 lb) and two fork widths (narrow and wide). All models use 43" to 44.5" long forks.

Models and Specifications:

♦ 272755, 21" W, 44.5" L forks. Lowered 3.6", raised 31.5". Capacity 2,200 lbs. Narrow fork width.

♦ 272754, 27" W, 44.5" L forks. Lowered 3.3", raised 31.5". Capacity 2,200 lbs. Wide fork width.

♦ 272462, 21" W, 44.5" L forks. Lowered 3.3", raised 31". Capacity 2,200 lbs. Narrow fork width, alternate configuration -- verify difference from 272755 with Wesco.

♦ 272463, 27" W, 44.5" L forks. Lowered 3.6", raised 31.5". Capacity 2,200 lbs. Wide fork width, alternate configuration -- verify difference from 272754 with Wesco.

♦ 272975, 20" W, 43" L forks. Lowered 3.6", raised 31.5". Capacity 3,300 lbs. Narrow fork width, higher capacity. Slightly shorter and narrower fork than the 2,200 lb narrow models.

♦ 272976, 27" W, 43" L forks. Lowered 3.6", raised 31.5". Capacity 3,300 lbs. Wide fork width, higher capacity.

Selecting the Right Model:

♦ Capacity, 2,200 lb vs. 3,300 lb, four models handle 2,200 lbs and two handle 3,300 lbs. Select the capacity tier based on the maximum expected load weight. The 3,300 lb models (272975 and 272976) use slightly shorter forks (43" vs. 44.5") and a narrower fork profile on the narrow-width model (20" vs. 21").

♦ Fork width, narrow vs. wide, narrow-width models (20" to 21") are suited for standard pallet entry openings. Wide-width models (27") provide greater lateral stability for wider pallets and skids and are required when the load width benefits from a broader fork spread.

♦ 2,200 lb model variants (272755 vs. 272462 and 272754 vs. 272463), there appear to be two variants at each fork width within the 2,200 lb tier with slightly different lowered heights (3.3" vs. 3.6"). Verify the specific differences with Wesco before ordering to ensure the correct configuration for the application.

♦ High lift pallet truck vs. dedicated skid lifts, this product combines transport and lift in one unit. If the application requires only lifting and positioning at a fixed station (no long-distance transport), a dedicated pallet positioner, such as the Bishamon LV-Series or Lift Products MJHLS, may be more appropriate. Choose the high lift pallet truck when both transport across a facility and an ergonomic lift at the destination are needed from the same unit.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Warehouse Receiving and Staging with Ergonomic Lift, receiving operations that move inbound palletized freight from the dock to staging areas, and need to inspect or pick from the load at a comfortable height, use the Wesco high lift truck to transport, and then raise the load to working height in one unit.

♦ Production Floor Palletized Material Supply: production support operations delivering raw materials or sub-assemblies on pallets to work cells. Use the high-lift truck to transport the load to the cell and raise it to the working height needed for the production step, eliminating the need for a separate lift table at the cell.

♦ Shipping and Packing Access: shipping and packing departments building orders from palletized products use a high-lift truck to bring the pallet to packing height, allowing order builders to work from the top of the pallet without bending to floor level as stack height decreases.

♦ Maintenance Parts and Equipment Handling, maintenance departments transporting heavy components or sub-assemblies on pallets to service locations use the 3,300 lb models to handle heavier loads at full transport and lift capacity without powered equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How does a high lift pallet truck improve workplace ergonomics?
High-lift pallet trucks reduce the need to bend and lift from floor level by bringing loads to waist height. This supports better posture and helps minimize strain on the back, shoulders, and knees. Workers can load, unload, and handle goods with less fatigue throughout the shift. Ergonomic lifting also helps reduce the risk of repetitive stress injuries over time.
Where are Wesco manual high lift skid trucks most commonly used?
These trucks are commonly used in warehouses, shipping and receiving areas, packaging stations, and light manufacturing environments. They are especially helpful when pallets need to be moved and then accessed at a comfortable working height. Because they are manually operated, they are well-suited for operations that require lifting capability without powered machinery. Their versatility makes them useful across many industries.
What makes a manual high lift pallet truck different from a standard pallet jack?
A standard pallet jack is designed primarily to transport loads at floor level. A manual high-lift pallet truck enables pallet elevation for easier access during picking, packing, or assembly. This reduces the need for additional equipment, such as lift tables or stackers, in certain applications. It is a smart option for facilities looking to improve workflow flexibility.
What should buyers consider when choosing the right high lift skid truck?
Key factors include load capacity, lift height range, pallet compatibility, and maneuverability within your workspace. You should also consider the floor condition and how frequently the unit will be used in daily operations. Durable construction and stable lifting performance are critical for long-term safety and reliability. Choosing the right model ensures smoother handling and improved ergonomics.
