WireCrafters Style 840 Woven Wire Server Cages

WireCrafters Super Strong Style 840 Wire Security Server Cage

WireCrafters Style 840 Woven Wire Server Cage, Secure Colocation & Data Center Wire Enclosure

WireCrafters Style 840 Woven Wire partitions provide an economical way to separate and secure customer-specific server or network equipment. Easily reconfigurable, the system can divide entire hosting facilities while keeping the space open and secure, allowing free circulation of light, HVAC, and fire suppression throughout the server storage area. Strong, durable, and attractive construction gives clients visible confidence in your facility's security and quality.

Server Cage partition panels bolt together and ship pre-sized, so no cutting or grinding is required, and all necessary hardware is included. Standard 3/8" mounting hardware is the heaviest in the industry, with heavy-duty options also available. All hardware sits inside the enclosure, so it's accessible only from within the secured area.

Server Cages allow side-by-side storage of server racks without wasting space, maintaining individual or multi-rack security with controlled access. Construction uses 10-gauge wire woven into a 2" x 1" rectangular mesh, framed in a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" x 1/8" hot rolled angle, with a welded flat stiffener bar added on larger panels. Panels bolt directly to a 2" square, 14-gauge steel tube post with 3/8" hardware for the strongest server cages in the industry. Posts include a welded base plate and floor anchors, and can be paired with an extra base plate to sandwich data center floors for a strong connection that won't damage the floor. Ceilings are also available as an option for added security.

WireCrafters offers a wide range of door options beyond standard hinged and sliding, including vertical rise, motorized sliding, and double-hinged doors, with lock options ranging from a basic key lock up to self-closing doors, keypad locks, card readers, fingerprint scanners, and emergency exit push bars. Eight standard powder coat colors are available in-house, with custom color matching available from a paint chip or RAL number.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is a wire server cage?
A wire server cage is a woven wire partition system that separates and secures customer-specific server or network equipment inside a shared facility. It is built from 10-gauge wire in a 2" x 1" rectangular mesh, framed in 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" x 1/8" hot-rolled angle and bolted to 2" square, 14-gauge steel tube posts. Why use wire rather than solid walls in a data center?
Airflow and fire suppression are the reasons. Server equipment generates heat continuously, and a solid enclosure interrupts the air handling the room was designed around. Wire construction lets light, HVAC, and fire suppression circulate through the space, so the cage does not require revisiting the cooling design or the sprinkler layout. Visibility also matters during client tours and audits, where an open cage lets a customer see their own equipment.
What door and lock options are available?
The range is wider than most partition systems. Doors include hinged, double-hinged, sliding, vertical rise, and motorized sliding, with sliding doors using a patented tamper-resistant latch. Locks run from a basic key lock through self-closing doors, keypad locks, card readers, fingerprint scanners, and emergency exit push bars. Match the access method to how many people need entry and how often, since a card reader on a rarely used cage adds cost without adding much.
How do server cages help your facility?
For colocation and hosting providers, individually secured cages let multiple customers share one room while each keeps controlled access to their own equipment, which is what makes the shared model workable. Panels ship pre-sized and bolt together with all hardware included, so no cutting or grinding happens on site, and the same standard panels work in both walls and ceilings. Because the system is reconfigurable, a facility can re-stack as tenants grow or leave rather than rebuilding. Assembly hardware sits inside the enclosure as well, so nothing can be unbolted from the aisle side.
How difficult is installation?
The panels bolt together cleanly, so most maintenance teams install the system without special tools or equipment. Panels attach to posts using standard hand tools. Because the same panel sizes work for both walls and ceilings, panels stack to reach the required height, which keeps the parts list simple and the enclosure consistent from one section to the next.
